The Illinois Department on Aging is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame, an annual program that honors Illinois residents aged 65 and older for exceptional lifetime achievements and meaningful contributions to their communities and the state.

Each year, four individuals are selected for induction into the Hall of Fame, representing a wide range of accomplishments across fields such as the arts, sports and entertainment, community service, education, and the workforce. The nomination process is open to the public, allowing anyone to submit a candidate for consideration.

To be eligible, nominees must be at least 65 years old at the time of nomination and must either currently reside in Illinois or have spent the majority of their lives in the state. The Department also accepts posthumous nominations, provided the individual was 65 or older and an Illinois resident at the time of their death.

Nominations for the 2026 Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame must be submitted by June 2, 2026. Additional information about the program and the nomination process is available on the Illinois Department on Aging’s website at https://ilaging.illinois.gov/resources/newspublicationsandreports/halloffame.html
