Powerlight Abe Lincoln Car Show Returning to Springfield

The Powerlight Abe Lincoln Car Show will return to Springfield next week for its 13th annual event, bringing classic vehicles, celebrity guests and a weekend of activities to Cherry Hills Church on the city’s west side.

The free event is scheduled for Friday, July 31, and Saturday, Aug. 1, at the church located at 2125 Woodside Road. Organizers have planned a Friday evening cruise-in beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the main car show on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The show will feature a collection of classic cars, trucks and motorcycles from across the region, continuing a Springfield event that has grown steadily over the past decade.

Celebrity guests scheduled to attend this year include Candy Clark, known for her role in the 1973 film American Graffiti, along with Larry Wilcox and Robert Pine from the television series CHiPs.

The event has become a regular summer attraction for car enthusiasts and Route 66 visitors traveling through Springfield. Previous editions of the show have included celebrity appearances, downtown cruises, live entertainment and vehicle competitions.
