The Springfield-Sangamon County Regional Planning Commission is reaching out to residents, students, business owners, and visitors to complete a brief online survey intended to shape the future of Sangamon County’s transportation, land-use, and both commercial and residential development. The survey is a core element of the Our Region Our Vision Future Growth Plan, which aims to assess existing and projected growth patterns and to propose recommendations suited to those changes.
Organizers are asking for honest feedback regarding quality of life, transportation and infrastructure needs, and priorities for growth. Such input will help ensure the final plan reflects the values and requirements of people who live, work, and visit the region.
This initiative is supported by a State Planning and Research grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The Regional Planning Commission, which oversees planning, transportation, and community development efforts, says the goal is to enhance economic vitality and improve quality of life throughout Sangamon County.
