The University of Illinois Springfield will hold its 55th annual commencement during two ceremonies on Saturday, May 9, at the Bank of Springfield Center in downtown Springfield. A total of 1,020 students are expected to participate out of 1,561 students eligible to graduate.

The first ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and will include graduates from the College of Health, Science and Technology and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. The second ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. and will include graduates from the College of Business and Management and the College of Public Affairs and Education.

Tickets are required to attend the commencement ceremonies and have been distributed to graduates for their guests. Doors to the main hall at the Bank of Springfield Center will open one hour prior to each ceremony.

Overflow seating with a live stream will be available in the lower level of the venue for guests without tickets. The ceremonies will also be webcast live at uis.edu/uislive.

During the 5:30 p.m. ceremony, UIS will award an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters degree to W. Robert Felker, a university alumnus with a career in finance that included senior leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase and its predecessor organizations. Over several decades, Felker led global futures and investment operations, served on multiple industry boards and remained active with the University of Illinois Foundation.
