Wiffle Ball Tournament Supports Youth Mental Health

Teams from across the area will return to Veterans Park this summer as Jared’s Keepers Foundation hosts its annual Strike Out Stigma Wiffle Ball Tournament on Saturday, July 18.

The event brings together community recreation and fundraising while supporting awareness and conversations surrounding youth mental health and suicide prevention.

Jared’s Keepers Foundation organizes the tournament as part of its ongoing work to provide education, support and outreach focused on reducing stigma around mental health.

Tournament play is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. using a round robin format before advancing top teams into elimination rounds. Registration materials indicate participation is open to players ages 6 through adult, and mixed-age teams are welcome.

Organizers noted accommodations may be made when possible for teams traveling the greatest distances.

Teams will register with five-player rosters and select shirt sizes and preferred team colors as part of the registration process. Entry is $25 per player and tournament participation is limited to 32 teams. The deadline to register is July 3.

The Strike Out Stigma tournament has become an annual community event for the foundation and serves as both a fundraiser and an opportunity to encourage conversations surrounding mental health and wellness.

Games will take place at Veterans Park in Auburn.
