Butler Funeral Home has been recognized for their exceptional service and commitment to helping families choose the ultimate gift of life through organ, tissue, and eye donation. The funeral home has been named a Gift of Hope Champion Funeral Home for their work in assisting 23 families from April 2022 to April of this year who have made the benevolent choice to donate their loved ones' organs, tissue, and eyes to those in need.
Katie Mendenhall Wilson, the director of funeral service operations, expressed pride in the organization's ability to support the National Donate Life Month Say Yes! campaign during April, working with Gift of Hope and other organizations and advocates throughout Illinois and northwest Indiana.
In honor of National Donate Life Month, the Butler organization has decorated their 6th Street funeral home with purple butterflies on stakes and signage explaining the significance of organ, tissue, and eye donation. Additionally, funeral home associates are wearing purple ties throughout April along with Gift of Hope pins, and Donate Life bracelets and pens are available for individuals who desire them.
The Butler Family of Organizations has been serving families with dignity and respect for nearly 130 years.
