This week Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in identifying a suspect reference criminal damage. On May 24, 2024, officers were dispatched to Heartland Bank, located at 1925 S. Macarthur, in reference to a damaged ATM machine.
The video showed a white male wearing a black short-sleeved shirt and black pants at the ATM on May 23, just before 9:30 pm. The suspect took a handful of rocks and threw them at the ATM. He then removed a handgun from his waist, pointed it at the ATM as though he was going to shoot it, but then used the barrel and butt of the gun to hit the screen of the ATM several times, causing thousands of dollars of damage.
