Crime Stoppers: Crime of the Week

Crime Stoppers is working with the Springfield Police Department to identify a suspect involved in a burglary and theft at Abelardo’s Mexican Restaurant, located at 1610 W Jefferson in Springfield. The incidents occurred on two separate occasions: October 22 and November 4.

On both occasions, a male suspect arrived in a white sedan during the early morning hours. Using bolt cutters, the suspect broke into a detached freezer and stole over $1,000 worth of meat. If made available, photos of the suspect can be viewed on the Crime Stoppers website at cashfortips.us.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect's identity is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on cashfortips.us, or use the P3 app. Tips leading to an arrest could result in a cash reward of up to $2,500.
