Crime Stoppers: Crime of the Week

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated battery that occurred in the area of Wolfe and Keys around 10 p.m. on August 15, 2025.

According to police, the victim was riding a bus when the suspect boarded and immediately attacked. The assailant repeatedly kicked the victim in the head and slammed his head against the window of the bus.

The suspect is described as a mixed-race male wearing a green shirt. Images of the individual are available on the Crime Stoppers website, cashfortips.us.

Anyone with information that could help identify the suspect is urged to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip online at cashfortips.us, or use the P3 mobile app. Tips that lead to an arrest could earn the caller a cash reward of up to $2,500.
