On May 14, 2024, at approximately 10:16 p.m., the Springfield Police Department Pro-Active Crime Unit served a search warrant on Candletree Drive. Prior to the warrant being served, members of the Street Crimes Unit were able to make contact with the suspect of the narcotics investigation, who had been identified as Xavier L. Blocker, 30, of Springfield. Blocker, who was currently out on bond for multiple felonies and equipped with an electronic monitor, was taken into custody without incident. During a search of Blocker, officers located approximately 3.2 grams of crack cocaine.
Upon completing a search of the residence, officers recovered a total of 247 grams of cocaine, multiple digital scales, equipment used in manufacturing crack cocaine, and $4,385. Blocker was transported to the Sangamon County Jail and is still in custody. Blocker has been charged by the Sangamon County State Attorney's Office with the manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance along with possession of a controlled substance.
